About this site
hanyu.school (hanyu.school) is a site for understanding Chinese characters rather than a general language-learning tool: it is for learners with a cultural motivation, and it sets out the rationale the script already contains.
Five strands
- Teaching: the seven levels, online courses and the pilot class;
- AI courses: the AI study assistant and companions, grounded in reviewed content;
- Research: the New Six Scripts, the rationale database, falsifiable tests;
- The library: the classics and source texts;
- Traditional culture: the culture the script carries.

This site is hosted by the Reasoning Research Institute, [operator and address]. Languages: traditional Chinese (default), simplified Chinese and English.
Position and limits
Our research and teaching take the position of Exploring the Design Mysteries of Chinese Characters and mark it clearly as the system's axioms. We draw the line against the usual evolutionary account rather than blur it: every explication keeps common and design readings apart, and every design reading shows its review status.
